Top 5 Conferences

gatorsportsnation.com

#1. SEC - The SEC is probably not as good as it was but is still loaded with 5 teams in the top 20. The SEC has Florida, South Carolina, Arkansas and three unbeatens in LSU, Auburn, and top ranked Alabama. Auburn and Alabama really help to make sure the SEC stays #1 as both have good chances to win a BCS Bowl game.

#2. Big Ten - The Big Ten also has 5 teams in the top 20 but overall cannot compete with the SEC. The Big Ten does have Wisconsin, Iowa, and 4 unbeatens in Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, and #2 Ohio State though. Ohio State will likely play in a BCS bowl and some other teams may also be able to play big bowl games. The Big Ten also is the home of Heisman front runner Denard Robinson

#3. Big 12 - The Big 12 gets the three spot because of their depth and I believe that when matched up against the Pac-10 or ACC they would win. The Big 12 has five unbeaten teams four of which are in the Top 25; Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Missouri are all in the Top 25. Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, and Kansas State are all having pretty good seasons too.

#4. Pac-10 - I put the Pac-10 at the four spot because I believe that although they have a BCS frontrunner in Oregon they don't have the depth of the Big 12. The Pac-10 only has three top 25 teams in Oregon, Stanford, and Arizona. If you look at the records of the teams not all of them are good but most of the teams have had moderate to tough schedules which is why I looked past some of there losses and put them in 4th.

#5. ACC - I considered putting the Mountain West Conference in this spot because they have some good teams in Utah, Air Force, and TCU. I also believe that the ACC is loaded with overated teams but they are a BCS conference and therefore have more balance than the Mountain West. The ACC only has two Top 25 teams in Miami (FL) and Florida State but some teams that are close.
